Installing and Applying a Theme to Google Chrome

You can customize Google Chrome to fit your chosen aesthetic. This guide provides the steps to install a new theme on your browser.

Method 1:

  1. Open Google Chrome

  2. Click the Overflow menu icon (or the Kebab icon, yum!). The Google Chrome overflow menu icon, also known as the kebab icon.

  3. Select Settings

  1. Click Appearance

  1. Click Theme to access the Chrome Web Store. You can search or browse for a new theme to apply to the browser.

As an example, this guide uses the Mountain Crows theme.

  1. After selecting your theme, click Add to Chrome. A banner confirms the installation. To return to your previous theme, click Undo.

  1. To select a new theme, repeat steps 1-6. To reset your theme to default, click Reset to default in the Appearance menu.

Method 2:

This shortcut is available when the New Tab page is your default homepage.

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. On the New Tab page, click Customize Chrome or the The "Customize Chrome" pencil icon. icon.

  1. Click Change Theme to access the Chrome Web Store. You can search or browse for a new theme to apply to the browser.

  1. To select a new theme, repeat steps 1-4. To reset your theme to default, click Reset to default in the Appearance menu.

Note for Linux users

Google Chrome can adapt to your GTK or Qt settings in the Appearance menu. To revert to the default theme, click Use Classic.
